Man, I've been listening to Dan Carlin's Hardcore History: Ghosts of the Ostfront while I've been gutting houses.

Apparently there are places in Russia where you can basically go dig up dead nazi's.

Just a phenomenal program.

Today I was listening to Punic Nightmare.(sounds like an awesome name for a metal band)

Cannae fascinates me

I'd pop out my bad eye if we could win the Heisman and the playoffs AND the Saints could get Fournette.

One of the few truly genius moments in human warfare. It is amazing that about 80k people were killed with only bladed weapons in the course of a day. It is a monumental slaughter.

There better damn well be a smoking hot piece of arse on the other side of the door
'smoking hot piece', like a .45? Or as Uncle Skillz would say, a 'Hammer', but why would she be locking you out? That's not a good sign Baw

They say there was 30'000 gallons of blood Shed that day.

Just...man.

And you think, men back then were just expected to slaughter like that. Completely different class of people.

And now if you even fire your gun they want you to go to counseling.

Makes you think. Somewhere, deep down, that relentless warrior spirit lurks within us still.

i agree. He automatically upgrades your rb position on your team.... But if we get rid of Breea to try and build us a damn OLine, then Watson has to be the QB of this draft right?

We blew up an old big screen one time. It was glorious.

I used to shoot a whole lot more in those days. Now I just try to build up my stocks of ammo but back then? shite we'd burn through 4000 rounds of .22 in an afternoon

Hopelessness played a big roll. A force is annihilated by another for less than half it's strength? Hannibal used a type of tactical jui-jitsu to defeat that particular roman group. But the romans other groups... and other groups.

Quantity has a quality in itself.

Fr33 my man. Yeah Carlin is just a fricking monster at Just telling a story and placing you there. And he seems to pick the perfect subjects like he is in my head.

But speaking of stories tellers. And if you like history like I think you do. There is these hour or so podcast called 'Twilight Histories' where the guy tells the story like you have entered the twilight zones. It's pretty neat. He will do some far fetched shite and alternative history.... But anywho I'm writing all this to recommend one of his more recent ones called 'Nightmare at Hiroshima' where he tells he stories of a few survivors from the angle of what they saw. I think he said he got the stories from the museum in Hiroshima.

But it's pretty moving.

And if you like his style I'm trying to think of some others in the past I enjoyed of his.... There was one with the 'Black Death' places in Roam. Abother where he places you in the Aztec empire and you start out about to be sacrificed on the top of a pyramid... LINK

So you've listened to Punic Nightmare.

You know, it makes me think...in other times in history, when you'd have so many listless young men...I mean, you have to direct that energy somewhere or else risk it consume you.

But now, so many are just...emasculated by the position of women. Women hold this mystical power over so many men it baffles me.

As if that damn thing between their legs has overridden the warrior spirit that lurks just below the civilized surface.

This dynamic can't last. This world is a powder keg, and one day in the future the right fuse will be lit and it will blow.

A hundred years ago we'd all be on some god forsaken battlefield, in a trench shitting in our helmet, or having our brains blown out our asses by artillery, or our guts festooned on the barbed wire like Christmas lights.

Or a hundred years before that, on a frozen battlefield in Europe, the only thing warm the barrel of our musket when we let the powder off.

We are living in a gilded age. Truly
