Had the hives yesterday. My dad used to get them from certain seafood.
I read about it a bunch and apparently your body can decide out of nowhere to be allergic to something and then one day decide it isn't allergic anymore.
Damnedest thing I ever saw. Little pencil eraser sized welts popped up on my sides and upper back. Took an antihistamine and they completely disappeared within an hour. More of a curiosity at this point than anything.

My Gf gets those alot. If she eats shrimp that are not fresh she gets those hives. I think it has something to do with the iodine levels

My dad's doctor said iodine or a certain protein in shellfish for him was the likely cause.
I'd like to know what caused mine but not bad enough to pay for someone to tell me they don't know either and to take Benadryl.

My Gf rolls the dice sometimes especially if she is craving shrimp or crablegs. I have seen it work in her favor most of the time but when it doesn't she says I knew l shouldn't eaten those then shows me the hives.
