You know, man has come such a long way.

We've slain all the monsters. The ones we used to cower in fear of inside the ring of firelight.

Man is unique in that. We are so very useless in our natural form. No claws, no fangs, no razor sharp tusks. No hooves or hide.

And yet, from that initial, tiny ring of firelight, we spread fire throughout the world. All the monsters that devoured out ancestors, we've now relegated to nothing.

We took the massive wolf, whose fangs dripped with the blood of the child's throat he'd torn out, and turned him into tiny little yappy things that ride in rich twats' purses.

Bears dance in the circus. We make boots out of crocodiles.

So the only monsters left are us, right?

Alright. I'm fairly certain I made a ham & cheddar sandwich and I have 4 little ginger snap cookies on the side. Not sure if it's ham or turkey. I haven't tasted it yet.

ETA: I peppered my tomatoes so that officially made it a gourmet sandwich

ETA2: ham

I wasn't aware so many alpha OTs drank wine. To each their own I guess. I had a cup of coffee earlier and now I can't sleep. I made the mistake of moving to close to the in-laws and my wife has picked up the habit of not cooking, no fancy drinks, nor late night desserts. I'm in hell over here. I have to eat popcorn like i did in college. Or I'll just make cookies myself, sounds good.

I want to thank all of you fine people for sharing online this evening. I do greatly appreciate it.

I never really cook either.

My husband and I have different work schedules though. I'm working full time and am going back to school...so I don't have a ton of free time each day to cook. We usually are not eating dinner at the same times. Easier for us to just fend for ourselves really. I do all the grocery shopping though and know what kind of stuff he likes and make sure the fridge is stocked for him.

I wasn't going to drink today but made an executive decision for a small glass of cheap cab during nightly reading. No big deal.

Wife cooks gourmet most nights. It's a struggle to eat less when it's so tasty.

Maybe you should buy her cookbooks several time a year as a hint?

Ive got a whole book shelf of them. Ice gotten to the point that if I bring it up, I have to hear a big long spiel about not having the time, energy, resources, ect. Its best just to botch about it on the internet.
