I’ve never been married but that’s excellent advice I think.

LSUC, sorry you’re dealing with that. The one thing I do know about is raising a kid on your own, and that can definitely be done. If I did it and never had to take a penny from the guy that my son is for then you can certainly do it too. Don’t let it get you down long term. It’s not worth the long term heartache.

It’s got me feeling sad

It seems as if my “so” is just getting lazier and she expects our toddler to never cry

She gets restless when sleepy and when you try to turn off the lights she will cry so my wife always gets upset that I make her cry. Truth is it’s only at night when she’s sleepy.

I’m trying to establish a routine and it’s not however when I bring her to my moms she always goes to sleep earlier and we let her cry it out

I didn’t realize you were a single mom.

It’s not easy, although having a helpful partner makes it much easier.

I just don’t know if I can be committed again. So much temptation out there. I’m good as long as I can run, but once the fences start going up I have this urge to jump them.

You need to read the baby whisperer book!
It’s an older book, but it will help with things like correcting those kinds of sleep issues and helping to put her on a schedule. It will save your sanity.
Unfortunately you can’t make someone care when they’re checked out, but maybe you can make her understand that her reactions and expectations aren’t normal and encourage her to do something about it like seek counseling for herself.

He’s 17 now, I think I’m on the verge of losing that title. It hurts lately. So much easier when they’re smaller and still need you.

You’re probably just gunshy and telling yourself that it’s to keep your freedom is easier than admiring that it’s risky to care about someone at that level.
