I've thought about that, since I work for engineer consulting firms. I could deal with a year in Saudi for $200-250k+. Though I can't complain about where I'm at right now. I'm with a good firm that pays great. And if they send me to another mountain range, I'll be happy.
I know I won't go to the Arkansas Delta for my next job. Maybe if I were towards the end of my career and married. But I'm single in my thirties. I'll lose my mind over there.

Yep. 6 nights a week. It sucks. But I went into this job as a quick Payday. So I'm intentionally working as much as possible until Thanksgiving. I'm even thinking about staying on nights the whole time, since I'll be able to make an extra $600-650 a week. And I've pretty much accepted that this schedule makes a social life impossible, and I'll be gone in 3-4 months.
After that, I may move to Asheville, NC. That area's recruiter gets back from vacation today, so I'll have a good idea what is going on over there. I'd definitely take that job.
If it's not Asheville, I'll probably quit my job and travel somewhere overseas for a month or two. Then I'll move back to New Orleans. Though this time I plan on getting serious about playing music, onstage and in parades. But the only paradesI'll play for free will be with Mardi Gras Indians.
Tl,Dr: I'll be working like a mule until Thanksgiving.

They want me. But it's in the Arkansas delta, in a dry county. If I'm I'm gonna live in a swamp, I'd rather be in Nola and playing regular gigs.
And I'm glad there's someone around too. It gets boring here after 2.
