I recently received a speeding ticking in Livingston Parish by a deputy for the Sheriff's department.

I've never received a ticket in a long time, and never in that parish.

Is there anything I can do or contact to do a driving class or anything to make sure the ticket does not go on my record? Thanks for any help.

sometimes you can go to the DA beforehand and they will send you to a DD class. Some counties in AL make you go to traffic court before they assign you to DD class, at least in my experience.

plead article 894...if you haven't gotten a ticket in awhile, this will keep it off your record but you will still have to pay the fine.

Talk to the DA before hand. See if you can't pay the fine but have it on your record as a non moving violation.

This is contradictory.

Also, contact the court and ask them. FFS.

Call Jason and tell him you pay his check, that usually rights the ship.

Call and tell the Sheriff's office you know what really happened the night Ard had his truck stolen by a tranny at Ginos

ETA: sorry, meant Ruffinos

Pay $200 to a traffic lawyer to get it either dropped or bumped to a nonmoving violation. Stays off your insurance and record. This happened to me in De Soto parish back in the day.

There are a couple of assistance D.A.'s at the LP courthouse - need to get in touch with one of them and make a deal - you will still have to pay the fine.
