I've seen a variety of raptors mating. It lasts a few seconds or less and really isn't very interesting.

Now eagles supposedly sometimes do it in the air with locked talons while spiraling towards the ground. That would be cool to see.

In-laws live on Marco Island. My wife and I would visit during breaks at LSU, and we liked it here. Oil was about $25 a barrel at the time, so job market in Louisiana was pretty limited.

Your description of Southwest Florida was spot on. LOL.
