My male dog does this. He is a smaller dog and he cocks his leg up like he is owning whatever he is pissing on. He also likes to him himself piss. When he is out in the backyard, he will just casually sniff all around and there are certain things he pissed on that's louder than the grass or something and it's like he thinks that makes him a man pissing on it. like "you hear that bitches? that's what it sounds like when a real man pisses!"
