I'll tip most anyone, if I have cash, if they go above and beyond in doing their service job. It's hard to find folks that give a frick, I appreciate the ones that do.

Cut my hair, get a tip
Fix my flat, get a tip
Make my sub well, get a tip
Pump my gas, get a tip

This triggers tf out of me. Why do you say it like that. Just say "make".

If you are working at Subway or Chipotle the best thing you can do is not give any more money or incentive to stay working at one of these places. Those are means to an end jobs. In the tip line write “learn to code”.

Usually a buck or two. When I was young and poor I didn't tip them but now that I'm old and poor, I feel bad if I don't.

No tip necessary. However if I were to tip for a larger order my max would be $3.50.

This. $1-2 per sandwich/entree.

If you work at Subway you shouldn't tip yourself? No shite.

Agreed

Also if I can tell they gave me a more meat than was required I will deff tip - but nothing above 10% since they didn’t serve me like at a restaurant

They are more responsible for your food than the server at a sit-down restaurant.

I’m willing to give a buck or two to the sandwich artisan who crafts my lunch.

I tip a higher % at WH than any other place. I respect anyone who is able to work at such an establishment for longer than a week. I'll usually leave $10 for my bill of ~$8.50 for an All-Star Special.

I really feel for the poor fricks who cook in a college town. IIRC, the Tuscaloosa Strip WH has the highest volume sales of any of their locations. Those people are saints.

If you don't see one of the cooks smoking a blunt or black and mild as you pull up at 2 AM, then it ain't worth it.

What do they get paid? That would be the main question for me.

I don't think the typical restaurant workers salary is very low and they are reliant on tips. I don't think the Subway/Chipotle workers have that same type salary structure.

Scratch a line through it.

The sad thing is, many humans feel so guilted, they put $1-$2 on the line out of fear which enables this behavior.

I understand the concept of tipping and it feels nice to be appreciated. It has gotten out of control.

In 2000, the tip percentages were 12,15 and 18. Now the minimum percentage you see is 18. You cannot say inflation because the bill has the inflation priced in. The tip is a percentage so the inflation is included in the bill.

Next thing you know the tip will be the same as bill

You could buy all foods for less than what they cost at restaurants. What's your point?
