My brother has fought it for years. If he drinks beer, he can't move the next day. If he drinks wine, no problems.

It's only when I drink a lot. Will gout be triggered by even one or two? Because I'm fine after that

Yeah, done some heavy drinking in my day, and never experienced this side effect. Must be a case of the gay.

Happens to me, too. Strictly in my quads. I only get drunk drunk maybe 2-3 times/year. But when I do, my quads cramp like hell the next day. And I consciously drink a lot of water while I'm getting hammered.

Well you just ruined my night of drinking. Looked up leg pain after alcohol consumption. Got this.
quote:

Alcohol can be toxic to nerve tissue. People who drink too much may start to feel pain and tingling in their limbs. This is known as alcoholic neuropathy. In people with alcoholic neuropathy, the peripheral nerves have been damaged by too much alcohol use. The peripheral nerves transmit signals between the body, the spinal cord, and the brain. Thiamine, folate, niacin, vitamins B6 and B12, and vitamin E are all needed for proper nerve function. Drinking too much can alter levels of these nutrients and affect the spread of alcoholic neuropathy. Fortunately, abstaining from alcohol can help restore your nutritional health. This may improve your symptoms and help prevent further nerve damage. However, some alcohol-induced nerve damage is permanent.

The backs of my knees usually hurt. I think it's just dehydration. Drink more water.

It's not in the joints, though. It's in the the middle part of the lower leg. Not the calf, but the side.

My doctor told me it's dehydration coupled with high anxiety.
