Sounds like a shitbag landlord trying to get a contractor to pay his elevator maintenance

This person is one of the biggest dick heads I’ve ever encountered. Stopped work twice and lied about me to the customer.

So you’re the one with the equipment in the elevator. I’ve had issues with elevator use before mainly them bitching about getting it dirty or scratching the walls. It’s always nice to be in a building with a freight elevator or at least an owner that understands multistory buildings have maintenance issue and elevators need to be used.

I always give the ones complaining “I can take a window out and use a crane for an extra $15k. “ that normally shuts them up.

I don’t think the contractor is responsible because it worked after the fact.

This is a gross oversimplification of the situation. Causation (or lack thereof) is rarely proved by res ipsa loquitur -- in this case, 'well it worked right afterwards' doesn't really tell the whole story.

He was not over the weight limit. It worked before, it worked during and it worked after. If he operated it properly, in this case pressing the up button, pressing the down button than he is no more responsibility for the person that used it before and after him and I don’t see how they could be blamed.

shite breaks.
