Thanks to God we are finally focusing on the important things in this country now that we've eliminated crime, poverty, lack of education. Oh wait, none of that is done .......

I have lived in the south my entire life and the flags and statues should come down. I find it hard to believe anyone honestly feels the other way on this issue. If you had to drive past a Huey Newton, Bobby Seale or Malcolm X statue I'm sure you wouldn't be happy.

Also, per the census website the "Black or African alone" population of Mississippi is 37% what's the reaction if the residents moved to put the continent of Africa on 37% of the flag?

And for the "I'm glad we took care of the other problems" crowd you are aware that we can have more than one problem at a time, right? By all means we should tackle the hard issues before something as simple as removing a symbol from a flag or some statues from a park.

SJW: just because you're offended doesn't make me wrong.

So your only reason for wanting to remove the flag is bc whites wouldn't want Africa on flags?

It's all about priorities. I'm certainly not defending having them staying up or being flown. I agree with a lot of what you're saying. I am just pointing out there's bigger fish to fry.

No, my reason is because of course it's offensive to a large portion of people. I'm not debating a bathroom law or religious freedom law but something as obvious as this shouldn't be a debate.

And for the record in high school I wore a rebel flag jacket to school for about 4 days before the principal called me to his office and told me that he loved the jacket but I couldn't wear it because it offended people. Even as an a-hole 16 year old (I probably only wore the jacket because I was an a-hole 16 year old) I understood that of course this would be offensive and I shouldn't wear it.
