Back in April, the Altman’s show from the Atlanta pop fest was released. It was about 8 months before the Fillmore show—great recording and pretty tight playing.

If you haven't already, listen to the SUNY Stonybrook recordings. The Blue Sky from that set is fricking incredible. Probably the best guitar work you'lk hear from Duane and Dickey - sans Duane's contributions to 'Why Does Love Got to be so Sad' on Layla, which IMO is the premiere display of dual guitar work in all of rock.

I was in C&M yesterday talking with Melvin. I think I am going to buy a new preamp for my bass and get 2 individual 12” and 2 individual 10” Mesa cabinets (4 total) and power them with a spare pair of 500w McIntosh mono blocs I have...should give me a really smooth tone with power to spare.
