I was taking care of the late great Percy Sledge in Baton Rouge early one morning and had taken care of him since around 11 o’clock the night before. He was waiting for a bed upstairs. In true, Baton Rouge tradition a gentleman came in with a penile discharge. As I left the guy’s room, I asked him did he know what caused this? He didn’t respond and I seen the first verse two when a Man loves a woman . I walked by Mr. Sledge, his bed and asked him what do you think? He responded Don’t quit your night job doc.
