If he was upset about the admin or whatever he was crying about, this seems like the most plausible way to do it. Youd want to off yourself before the explosion just in case.

Correct.
Your auto insurance is not going to cover your car if you're renting it out commercially.
Turo advertises that they use Travelers to cover this contingency, but Travelers is only going to cover you for state minimums, IIRC.
And Travelers is like crime, they don't pay.
I got a bunch of downvotes earlier, I guess thers a lot of folks renting their cars out, IDK.
