There’s a front moving in from the E/NE.
Officials didn’t want to tie any crews up repairing damage from storms produced by the cold front. They’re sending them to stage for Hurricane recovery in Birmingham.
They decided to cut the power now, so most cell phones will be dead by the time the front hits so they won’t have to field too many calls.
