Lake Charles has a loop but Baton Rouge does not

The Lake Charles I-10 bridge accident thread made me wonder how does Lake Charles have a loop but not BR? Hell Ole Miss might actually win a NC in football before Baton Rouge gets a loop. Can't they just cut all the political bickering and get the damn thing done.

Is it political bickering, or is it that roads are really expensive and this state doesn't have a ton of money to invest in such things? Louisiana already has a $12 billion backlog on road construction projects.

Toll roads, when used correctly, are a relatively cost effective way for a state to pay for things over time that they can't afford up front.

Can't cut downtown BR out of the loop. Must route all traffic through downtown BR. Downtown BR is way too important to miss.
