The ignorance surrounding “global warming” is comical.

This more driven by MJO phase and south LA being an almost tropical climate

Why would parking on the shoulder be a bad idea?

I suggested you avoid parking on the shoulder under an overpass during a severe storm. Okay try to imagine this. Reference my incident. There are cars parked on the shoulder under the overpass. So the panic lady stops under the overpass in the right lane, creating the chance of a potential serious accident. She has effectively blocked most of those cars from pulling out from under that overpass. Remember those cars are parked behind each other on the shoulder under the overpass. Have you considered what would have happened if an eighteen wheeler had come barreling down that highway and plowed into that lady parked under the overpass? Those folks on that shoulder under that overpass were trapped. Trust me I've seen eighteen wheelers traveling at ridiculous speed during severe storms.

I say avoid parking under overpasses during severe storms. Better to find an exit (if possible) and ride out the storm. That's what we did.
