Where exactly do these teachers and principals work? I have no doubt that there are isolated schools that may not face the amount of hurdles and obstacles school districts as a whole are facing, but you're talking out of your arse if you're in the BR area and claiming everything is going swimmingly well. That's the biggest false statement I've heard in the last 6 months. Covid, economy, hurricanes every 3 weeks...yeah, everything is great.

One of the high schools in these parishes has like 300-400 students who have been sent home for 2 weeks for COVID issues.

That’s because their quarantine tracing policy is absurd and in no way in line with CDC recommendations.

What are they doing exactly that isn't following CDC guidelines?

They are doing 14-day quarantines for entire classes due to one positive and when you switch classes every hour, that means you are quarantining 100+ kids for a single positive case.

No no no no, not true at all, at least not for the high school I’m talking about. There have been lists after lists sent out every day with more and more kids who are being forced home for 2 weeks for whatever COVID reason. The total is now easily over 300 students. It is NOT entire classes.

My kids are have been in a LP elementary school daily since early august and there’s been no issues. My wife teaches at a LP high school, and they’ve had a few minor issues but nothing huge.

LP doesn't have teachers setting up tents and projection screens outside of school board meetings?

Nope, not true either. It’s not entire classes. The lists are going out to all faculty, not the parents.

So schools are quarantining 300-400 students and following CDC guidelines as to spacing and quarantine procedures?

I know they had some disgruntled teachers in LP due having to pull double duty teaching both in person and the virtual kids, but that hasn’t been an issues at my wife’s school

Is it correct that wouldn’t allow them to zoom classes as they were occurring in the school? Like they had to teach all their classes in person and then do another set online after school hours?

Yeah, that’s bullshite.

I said well. They all work in Ap or Livingston. I have friends and family in both. Most with kids in schools also. We talk about how it’s going. There are hurdles and obstacles but nobody says shite show or disaster or otherwise terrible. Talked while drinking as well. But your arse up in here doomsaying.

If you add up the students on each list that has been sent out the last 7-10 days, it’s around 300. Now who knows why they are being forced to quarantine...maybe they were exposed at home, or at a party, or a close contact to a student in one of their classes who tested positive or whatever. All I know is there are emails about positives cases and lists of students being forced home for 2 weeks that are sent out 3-4 times a week.

Go back and read my earlier posts explaining the contradiction in BESE adopted procedures...I'm sure the teacher posting in here can verify that they're allowing classrooms to bypass the 6 foot recommendation but still requiring the quarantine protocol through contact tracing and the 15 minute/6 foot rule

Almost all of north LA has been full time over a month. Yeah there have been some cases, but nothing crazy.
