thats right, you could pay an extra $2 for the speed skates with the orange and black wheels.
ah, back in the day before rollerblades.
all the kids would hang out in the back and make out.

I remember on the news a fat kid got stuck in the portal of that thing (it was the hamburglar) and they had to take the thing apart to get him out

i know, thats the best part. its an excuse to have donuts whenever you want, cuz its now a cake.

Remember when they tried that Krispy Kreme experiment here a few years back? It was roundly rejected by the good people of Lafayette who know what good donuts taste like.

I think it's a burger place now.

Does anybody remember Chart House? Or Toot's fried chicken? They were in the space that's now a Domino's Pizza (I think) on University and Johnston St. First the space was CH, then Toots. Toot's had the best "biscuits". They were really just donuts without any sugar, but they sure went well with the chicken.

We always went to Tastee Donuts
As for the Sonic HS wars, I never went to those because I knew kids from all of those schools.

i remember we had a whole cabinet full of those alligator sippy cups they gave out with the kids meals. had green, orange, and blue ones.

There was a poor Jamaican woman who worked there when I was in high school. We'd go in there for Castle Burgers all lit up and harrass her.

I haven't lived in Lafayette for more than a couple months since I graduated from HS. I miss the following:
Red Lerilles
Deano's Pizza
Close proximity to hunting/fishing
Boiled crawfish joints (can't remember names) One place in Scott in particular that was really just a warehouse with tables
Ton's in Broussard...there was another good burger place on Pinhook heading to Broussard, but it moved to the N. Side near Moss Motors then went under - anyone recall?
I liked Riverside as a kid but I've heard it has gone downhill
I liked going to the strip and the late night bars like the Kingfish but I can't say I miss that shite.
