The power was out for three weeks. Miserable for everyone.
One man in the neighborhood had a generator and made ice cubes. He would bring Mama a bowl of them every afternoon. ( Ziploc bags had not been invented yet)
She could make 1 pitcher of ice water per day. There were 8 of us and each got a glass of chilled water. It was great.
