First big-screen movie in 1946, last in 2004.

He turned into a handsome feller after looking like a goofy kid. Had no idea he was 103. RIP The movie Tough Guys(I think it was called) with him and Charleton Heston was great movie.

Rest in peace, Mr. Douglas.

Can't recall which of his movies I've first watched. Tossup between A Letter To Three Wives or The Bad and the Beautiful.

Kirk Douglas and Burt Lancaster together were untouchable in their prime.

I just remembered reading his autobiography, where he mentioned having to smoke for a role he was playing. This was before they came up with special "Actor's Cigs" that didn't hook you.

When the role was over he found he was addicted, and he smoked for over ten years.

He finally quit, using a technique his Russian immigrant father had used to quit. The old man would carry a pack of cigarettes around in his pocket and when he wanted a smoke, he would pull it out, look at it, and say, "Who stronger? Me? You?" -- then he would put the pack back in his pocket.
