Researchers don't know exactly why they do it. Some believe that fin collapse or other disease has driven certain whales to hunt White Sharks specifically for their vitamin and nutrient rich livers. A pair of Killer Whales were observed hunting, and killing, more than one White Shark. Both of the whales had fin collapse, which made it incredibly easy to verify that it was the same pair.

Also, their intelligence and ability for cooperative hunting, makes them a legitimate threat to White Sharks.
