I don't even call my parents Mom or Dad anymore because there are grandkids now and so we all call them what the grandkids call them. At first it was just because the kids were too young to understand and then it just stuck. lol

I have only seen it from a kid who has no siblings. IMO it is due to hearing parents calling their spouse by their first name instead of mom or dad

I'm 51 and I still call my parents' friends "Mr. And Mrs. So-and-So". When I see some of my old youth league and high school coaches, they're still "Coach So-and-So" to me.

If I hear a kid call their parent by first name, I immediately know the parents did a shitty job raising the kid
