It's that attitude that has the government slowly taking away more and more of our rights, no matter how small they may be.

So if she starts vomiting 4 days from now she won't have a chance to infect anybody?
No, she will, you're moving from your original point though.

You may get HIV tonight if you have sex, so let's let the government quarantine from having more sex, right?

I don't believe you. You're telling me that if you had the choice to sit next to her or someone that didn't treat ebola patients for a month you would have no preference? You're lying and we all know it.

i disagree.

1. ebola hyperbole has reached epidemic hysteria..it leads off just about every newscast.

2. 3 or 4 cases have everyone in the nation on edge.

3. all they are asking is she chill at home for a few more days (she's probably a week or 2 into the 21 days already right?)

so they're not FORCING her to do anything..she's the one that said "i will not sit here and avoid people".

Ok, but why is this relevant?

If you play that game, you're gonna quarantine 90% of the population lol.

Could be wrong, but I think they are trying to force her to do so.

Well, the issue at hand is whether they have the right to do so.

Why doesn't she just stay home for 2 more weeks? I think the reason they are trying to force her to do the rational thing is because she's being an irrational idiot and insisting that she will walk around with no regard to her fellow citizens.

I had TB once. They told me it was very unlikely I could transmit it to anyone but they asked me to stay at home for 2 weeks. I did and wore a mask at all times, terrified I may transmit it to anyone that entered my house. Where is this woman's concern that she could infect someone? It's 2 more weeks of sitting in your house watching TV to make 100% sure you don't infect someone and change their life forever. selfish bitch.

She tested negative. She's clean. A small government conservative would be on her side, logically. Amazing how many would side with the government to lock someone up for "only" 3 weeks for no practical reason.

If she has no symptoms, there is no chance she can transmit it, world of a difference, no?

Fwiw, I'd sign up for that in a heartbeat lol.

It can take up to 21 days for those symptoms to start showing there, chief. Hence why they want to quarantine her for 21 days.

Because she was treating perhaps dozens of people with ebola and they were vomiting and shitting all over her in the last stages of a deadly disease when they were very, very contagious.

No, it's not. She is a very good candidate to have it, and to ask her to chill for 20 days so that she limits the chance of it spreading it to her neighbors is not some out-of-line request.

Why should she be concerned if she has no symptoms?

Because though she has no symptoms, it does not mean she does not have it. She should also be concerned because she was around ebola patients that shat and vomited all over her for a month. Why on earth would you not want to err on the side of caution and just sit at home and watch TV for a couple of weeks, guaranteeing that she doesn't spread it?

No symptoms = not contagious, so why lock someone up who poses no threat to anyone?

so if she begins to dvelop symptoms in the middle of a movie and coughs on the people in front of her and smears her ebola-ness on the bathroom stall handles & faucets, that's okey dokey?

eta oh i forgot, she's a nurse and would make sure she doesn't infect anyone if that happen.

were you saying every person in Dallas who treated the ebola patient should be quarantined? I don't recall seeing anyone really saying that, so what's the difference?

No, it's not
no difference between being contagious and not contagious?
