If we can only find a way to harness the power of one of the largest rivers in world that flows right through Louisiana we can have cheap hydroelectric power too.
We know how to do it, and the tech is proven. We could line the whole river with micro-hydro turbines without interfering with boat traffic at all. The problem is...

Instead we depend on fossil fuels and a few nuclear plants that work only sometimes.
The folks making money on old tech are going to keep squeezing until there's no more juice or until we pop.

We took a window unit and put it in the living room, where the thermostat is located. We run it from about 1pm to 8pm. We set the central unit to 76 deg. It fricking sucks that I’m celebrating a $410 electric bill.

Your main air conditioner ran less because the window unit was lowering the temperature in the area near the thermostat.

On a related topic, Entergy’s usage section on the app is shitting the bed. Last week I had not been showing usage. Then today, I saw only some usage for 4 hours out of the day on one random day.
