Southwest had flights from NO to Las Vegas for $190 round trip. So if you're getting 30mpg it's costing you about $287 in gas round trip, plus $30 a day in meals. You could have used those savings on hookers and blow.

Stop at Jerry's Cafe in Gallup, NM. Best New Mexican food on the planet. Also drive through the Painted Desert/Petrified Forest, it's right off of I-40... allow 2-3 hours for this. Grand Canyon isn't too far off the road either.

Worst drive of my life was Huntsville, AL, to Great Falls, MT. Drove there in 30 hours straight.
