Video in OP is from a June 20th meeting. The city council also had a meeting yesterday with public participation. One citizen pushed them to not approve the district police chief’s request for a leave of absence from city council which would help citizens have a special election to replace him on council after 3 absences (if he doesn’t show) faster than recall process.

June 20th meeting seemed to be about house investigation and hearing testimonies, but I am not sure if it was also considered a regular or official meeting like the one last night the public did attend. I have no clue how that fits with open public meetings.

About Monday meeting
quote:

Committee chair Dustin Burrows, from the Texas House, said that their intention was to hear from Uvalde Police, a school district officer, and a member of the Department of Public Safety, according to the AP. The public was not permitted to hear that testimony. Additional hearings are scheduled in Austin, Tex.

I wonder if the lady who was having panic attacks and felt intimidated last week was there to give testimony like others were going to do on Monday and not actually part of city council.

Edit: Just read it was planned in advance to go into executive session as part of hearing witness testimonies for house committee investigation, so I not sure why Fire Marshall in OP link is talking about a lady with panic attacks and being intimidated.
quote:

A legislative committee looking at law enforcement response completed another day of closed-door hearings in Uvalde on Monday.

State Rep. Dustin Burrows, who is chairing the committee investigating the school shooting, had said at the start of the day’s session that the panel would hear more witness testimony from the Uvalde Police Department, as well as from another officer from the school district police and a member of the Texas Department of Public Safety.

After Burrows’ opening statements during the committee hearing in Uvalde, the committee went into executive session, blocking the public from hearing witness testimony. Burrows did not immediately emerge from the executive session Monday afternoon to make a statement on the day’s testimony.
