Looks like BLS is trying to get more honest about the state of the economy.

A lot of them had second jobs and used their government gig as passive income.

Doesn't help that 4 autists have made the entire OMB obsolete.

This probably reflects some of that. I started getting a bunch of "role withdrawn" about a week or two after the election. The rest of them came in January.

During the job search my new college grad daughter did last Spring, it slowly became clear that most of the "openings" were fakes just designed to gather resumes or shore up internal company morale. Despite graduating from a top 20 school with an engineering degree, her and many classmates struggled to find jobs. She landed one a week prior to graduation, most of her friends were still looking at graduation.
There have been numerous articles around the internet in the past 12 months discussing the prevalence of fake job listings.

I hate to break this to you, but if your daughter couldn't find an engineering job in 2024, she's either a moron or completely delusional about pay.

3.3 GPA EE, plenty of activities, won an award for her contributions during her internship. Pay expectations were average.
Look in the mirror to find the moron. There were a lot of kids over 3.0 who struggled to find jobs last year.
