The Rich Man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31)
19 "There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day.
20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate,
21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.
23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.'
25 But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.
26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.'
27 Then he said, 'I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house,
28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.'
29 Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.'
30 And he said, 'No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.'
31 But he said to him, 'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.' "

What does the mighty gulf that God did span mean?
In the context of the Bible, the phrase “the mighty gulf that God did span” refers to the separation between God and humanity due to sin. This gulf represents the spiritual distance and separation between humans and a holy God because of sin. The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ came to bridge this gap by dying on the cross to pay for our sins and reconcile us to God. This act of sacrifice and atonement made it possible for us to be restored in relationship with God, overcoming the gulf that existed between humanity and Him.
Where there is a gulf in between us in the Bible?
There is a gulf mentioned in the Bible in the story of the rich man and Lazarus found in Luke 16:19-31. In this parable, there is a great gulf fixed between the rich man, who is suffering in Hades, and Lazarus, who is in the comfort of Abraham’s bosom. The gulf represents the eternal separation between those who have followed God and those who have rejected Him.
What is Luke chapter 16 verse 26?
Luke chapter 16 verse 26 says:
“And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.” This verse emphasizes the permanent separation between the righteous and the unrighteous after death.

So is everyone in heaven constantly seeing the torment going on in hell?

Typical, silly, pointless bible story that everybody has already heard 5,000 times before. But of course it will of course get a bunch of upvotes on a Southern message board.

I think that Lazarus should have quit being so lazy and gotten a job. Even if it was the ancient equivalent of a McDonald’s job.

There is none righteous, no not one.
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of god.
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of god.

quote:
For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
Romans 4:3-7
quote:
Jesus answered, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never hunger, and whoever believes in Me will never thirst. But as I stated, you have seen Me and still you do not believe.
Everyone the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but to do the will of Him who sent Me.
And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of those He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For it is My Father’s will that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”

The Rich Man and Lazarus story is not really the focus of the thread or video.
To answer your question:
Verse 22: So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom.
The rich man also died and was buried.
23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
This is the scene and two places divided by the "gulf" of 'Righteous' / un-Righteous as described by Jesus Himself in his story to the Pharisees.
There is no mention in Luke or anywhere else of "spectators" -- at least from the "Paradise" side; In the video portrayal, you'll notice Lazarus never noticed The Rich Man until The still-arrogant Rich Man saw both he and Abraham. At that moment he shouted over the Gulf, requesting Abraham send Lazarus over to wetting his parched lips, also requesting Abraham warn his brothers of their probable same fate.
It should be noted that the place "Paradise" (or 'Bosom of Abraham') is NOT "Heaven"; Paradise was the temporal place for the Righteous before Resurrection Day, when Believers will be within the presence of God the Father and Jesus forever.
"Hades" is NOT "The Pit" nor "Hell"; Hades is a temporal place for the un-Righteous before Judgement Day.
