I was on St Charles after the abbreviated Rex and spoke with a city official who said it wasn't so much the safety aspect...although there was that. The bigger issue was about how the weather would affect clean up.
They wanted to have the streets and neutral ground cleared of debris before the winds and rain. St Charles was cleared and clean by 230 - 300

Not sure if anyone cares but the Metairie Krewe of Argus is going to roll on Metairie Road with the St Patrick’s Day parade. March 16th.
