Traded this piece of shite in.....multiple electronic, engine knocking and customer service problems. Traded in with 32,000 miles. It was plush but didn't trust having it for years and years.

The straight 6 on a mid 90's cherokee is incredibly resilient. If on a budget, I'd go there. After that, some of the cherokees are kinda hit an miss with electrical issues.

Why are cross shopping a Cherokee w/an Explorer?
The Cherokee is roughly the same size as as a Ford Escape, Honda CRV, or Toyota Rav4.
You should be looking at the Grand Cherokee or Grand Cherokee L if you want the same size as the Explorer.
Also, this is the final year Jeep is making the Cherokee so it's a bit dated compared to the other Jeep offerings.
