We’ll always keep an airfield on Okinawa, but there isn’t a necessity to keep the number of troops we had in the past. If anything, with less jarheads running around, I bet it’s even nicer there now.
I flew out of Darwin in 2014, there were a lot of Marines in town, said they had a base nearby.
