What a stupid analogy. Your check engine light being on indicates a problem. Your engine is sick. As OP said, there is no reason for healthy people to be getting tested.

It is not possible to quarantine everyone.

Don’t you want real numbers?

If we only allow symptomatic people to get tested then the contraction rate is going to be artificially skewed too high
