My SO is very similar. I basically told her we aren't married (yet) and that shes free to go find a slob if she wants one. However, working out is as routine to me as taking a piss. It's not and probably won't ever change. It has nothing to do with her.
To pecker:
What happens when y'all are both 50+ and your hormones are failing you. You aren't going to be young and attractive forever.

Everyone shits all over Pecker and GNugs when they start threads, and rightfully so for the amount of attention they bring to themselves, but they have solid ideas. Very unorganized and controversial ideas, but still solid ideas.
For example in this thread, husbands and wives need to hold each other accountable for their weight gain, so that we can improve our health overall, and everyone can be better off. If everyone did this, we wouldn't have an obesity problem, which eventually spreads to our children as well, and endangers their health

60% of women in the south are fat, so simple math would tell you 60% of the OT wives are fat. Even though no one here will admit it, 60% of you will be holding on to rolls when you hit it tonight.
You think we just let anyone post here?

Nah, I lift 4-5 times a week. I like to stay lean though.
I'm just over 6' at 185.

Put safeguards in place before issues arrive.

I wanna hear that shite come out of your mouth once kids, mortgages and age come in to play.

Damn dude. You must be naturally built like a string bean. If so I have a feeling your side of the bargain will be considerably easier.

some women get pregnant and it lasts 9 months.
You have to throw all her fat clothes away after the baby or she just stays in them.

What the hell does "bad choices" mean? In primal times food was scarce. You ate when you could or you starved.
The ideal female weight varies between eras and cultures. However, the ideal hip-waist ratio has remained nearly constant since ancient times. Men are attracted to women who can get pregnant and carry a pregnancy to term. Too much or too little weight is a biological turn-off.

If she starts eating like shite, and starts putting on a few pounds, I'm going to tell her: "dude, you're not going to fit in that bikini if you eat that gallon of Blue Bell Rocky Road."
Dude it's a trap.

I am, and my wife just had a baby. She's almost back down to her pre-pregnancy weight and looks great.
Still doesn't change the fact that you need new material.

Here's how it goes:
-If I start eating like shite, and start putting on a few pounds, she's going to tell me: "Bro, your midsection is looking soft. What do you think you're doing eating an entire bag of Doritos?"
-If she starts eating like shite, and starts putting on a few pounds, I'm going to tell her: "dude, you're not going to fit in that bikini if you eat that gallon of Blue Bell Rocky Road."
here is how the response goes in 10 years.
"bitch, I work 50 hours a week, I have baseball, dance, and school meetings to go to, you dont go to the store much less cook a decent fricking meal...all I got is Doritos and I am a goddamn man and will eat what I want!"
"dude? Who the hell are you calling 'dude'?, I kill myself doing laundry, I have birthed your children so I am not showing my goddamn stretch marks, and you havent taken me on a decent vacation in 5 fricking years but you can find time to play golf with your dude friends while I am stuck wiping asses and cleaning up puke, frick off and get me some chocolate syrup"

FML
You have to do you because, as you already know, her unhappiness isn't about you. Your having poor eating habits and turning into a slob, isn't actually going to make her happier. And even if it did, is that the life you want?

6 feet 185 is a pretty good build especially if he is lean
So many fat asses on this board who think if you aren't at least 205 pounds you are a skinny string bean.
The before and after pics I have posted on here, the "before" pic of me is at 187 at 6 feet tall and I was a fat arse. I was as high as 205 pounds a couple years ago and had a double chin and my belly overhung my pants.
It's not weight that matters, is your muscle mass and body fat %

Reality is a mf'er. They have it all mapped out though. A few extra pounds will be the least of their problems.

Fat women in caveman times were unhealthy and made bad choices
we all know cavewomen made alot of nutritional and exercise choices.
Survival lends itself to a lot of free time for the gym and preparing lean proteins and veggies for supper.
