Have you watched it and the logic?

I watched "BIOPSIES Spread cancer through out the bloodstream... Do NOT Get a Biopsy!". What substance was there other than self-confirming statements?

Do you just wave off the vid caveats as "nonsense"?

Do so at your own peril; I'm just the messenger and one-time guinea-pig..

I respect science. And the fact that I’ve had biopsies and no cancer/cancer spread.

My Grandmother’s breast cancer also has not reoccurred post-biopsy (she had a small mass that was removed without issue) in 4 years now.

I'm actually surprised Epic isn't completely connected across institutions. I use Baton Rouge Clinic for most of my healthcare but occasionally need to go into the Ochsner system for things. These systems don't seem connected in any way. Why aren't they connected? It seems like it would be pretty helpful for all of your files to be in one place, accessible by all of your healthcare providers.

Been mentioned but Epic can be hosted by the hospital/provider or a 3rd party. Super expensive to maintain yourself, while 3rd party there are better options with redundancy but not one sole provider.

Without seeing what happened I would bet this was self hosted

Either host on prem by the Hospital or EPIC hosts it. There isn't an AWS/Azure cloud setup for it. I could be wrong but pretty sure.

A huge network in Ohio got hacked earlier this year. Basically fricked up everything and everyone that had to interact with it.

I think there are a few specialty non epic providers that can host it for you but mostly it seems epic wants to host it for you if you're not doing so yourself. If epic hosted they have half a dozen data centers around the country so if the outage is severe the hospital should be able to fail over to their designated secondary datacenter.

Also there's supposed to be a dedicated downtime terminal in each area that lets them struggle through whatever must be done in a reduced capacity when the system is down.
