Don't make a big deal of it. Just start staying at your house more often, and feel out whether or not this is going to be an issue down the road. You don't have to have some big ultimatum conversation at this point.

Just keep doing what yall are doing and she'll realize shes wasting her breath.
It sure sounds like they bought the house for her.
on another note, what's the catch? 28, own home, nice job, etc.......she was single so there must be some issues with her past. maybe that's why mom is so involved.
Next time you see moms car approaching, make her start blowing you....mom walks in, problem solved.

Like I said earlier, maybe mom is the issue.

Maybe she's picky or was busy getting her career together that she didn't have time to date. I didn't know we still judged older single girls so much.

Simple rule of life, if you have to ask someone if something is a problem, it is a problem!

How long you posted on here?
Most of these posters are from the South...where if you are still single, never married at 28-29 you are looked at worse than someone 29 with 2 kids that is now divorced.

But you even said the same thing.
Posted on 3/1/14 at 5:49 pm to Winkface
I said that maybe she is still single because she has an overbearing, controlling mother that chases off men that realize they don't want that drama in their life.
I was placing the blame on the crazy mom and not the woman.

But that's what I'm saying. Why are we even questioning why she is single at 28 in the first place?

BR is a small town, relatively speaking
too much small town southern BR mindset

Cause society(ESPECIALLY Southern culture) has drilled it into our heads to question it.

Ok. I guessed I've managed to conquer that.

You must have missed all my posts related to this.
How I felt like a social leper whenever I came to visit BR before I got married.
Out here...not a big deal. Bigger city mentality.

we get it, BR sucks and you hate it and it's so much better to be out.

True.

I've seen it. Guess that's why I was especially surprised to see you perpetuate it.

I was just trying to point out to the OP that this mom sounds crazy imo

For the record, she's single because she was in school up until 2 years ago getting her bachelor's and MBA and starting her career (hence being able to own a house at 28).
