This. Perhaps I am underestimating their intelligence, but I have a couple of friends that pitch that crap on Facebook and it bugged me enough to block their feed.

This, I immediately lose respect for anyone that sells that crap.

Wife and I did a timeshare presentation...wow, I've never been "hard sold" that much in my life. It totally felt like the Southpark spoof on timeshares (when they went to Aspen).

Sounds like you are. All time shares are not bad deal. There are good ones and bad ones. You are making a ridiculous over generalization. That's like saying "Is there anyone dumber than people that get suckered into hotels?"

I just can't fathom paying a ton of money to not own something and essentially be locked into having to vacation in the same place every year. I have friends who have a timeshare, and their mentality has essentially devolved into "we'd like to do something different this year, but we have that timeshare in Daytona so...."

I mean, I know there are less smart people but the disparity between where they think they mentally are and where they actually are has to be the greatest in this group.

can someone explain this whole "timeshare" deal to me? I don't get it.

My aunt and uncle found a condo they liked on the beach. They decided to go in with about 12 other couples and buy the place. It works out to where each couple gets 4 weeks out of the year to use the place. I guess you could kinda, somewhat call that a "timeshare" since they can't just go use it whenever they please. These people who get suckered into bad deals or whatever....is that not essentially the same type of situation?

I needed to step out of my meeting this morning to take a call so I stepped into the timeshare room for a quiet spot (they're not in here yet). I feel dirty just being in here even alone, keep checking my wallet...
