Fine and I agree. But that's not my argument.

I live in a place where there is no shortage of health care. I have 3 level 1 trama centers within a 15 min drive of my house. But it takes 3-4 weeks to get into my pcp if it's not an urgent situation.

Why? Because he's really good and in high demand.

If you could point me to a higher quality PCP that is taking new patients and isn't an hour across the county I'd be happy to.

Why? Because he is not properly staffed to handle his patient load. Because he has not hired PAs or NPs to handle sick visits while he focuses on annual wellness visits which can take longer and are more comprehensive. Because he has not hired additional MD-PCPs to take on new patients.

A lack of availability is not an indication of high quality, efficient, low cost healthcare. It’s is a sign of lack of availability.

He works is a massive hospital where they share nurses and admin staff. Would you like to try again?

they scam the system, and take American jobs. Many of them are vastly under qualified too

One of the regular Posters on here lost a son a few years back because someone on staff at one of these places f**ked up. Yeah other than something really minor i'm heading to my local er. Don't really trust the staffing at these places.

They have their time and place.

I needed to get a quick Covid test to travel internationally on a few hours notice - urgent care.

Caught the flu over the weekend and needed tamiflu- urgent care.

Needed stitches for a cut on my hand - urgent care.

Never had any problems with them… my experience is they came in handy from time to time.
