I ride my bike a lot. I walk places. I'll go jogging. I often do semi physical work. Outside as much as possible, pretty much don't stay home.
So you exercise all day every day. Not exactly the doing nothing you made it out to be, huh?

With a shite diet, you have to have good genes for this. So we've now established you exercise all day and have good genes. But yes, keep speaking for the common man :lol

So you exercise
You made it sound like you stay skinny while pounding beers, pizza, and milkshakews all day long.

Dude you're like 6'2" and weigh 160lbs. Let's not act like you look like brad Pitt in fight club.

Sorry i worded it like that
I was just making a point even if it was anacdotal that science has showed a man at 40 really has had only a small drop in metabolism, but majority have already let themselves go and use the metab drop as an excuse when it's just they became lazy asses and changed their way of living

6'1 170
Normal BMI range 18.5 - 25
Mine = like 22.5

Definitely agree. The metabolism bullshite excuse is funny.
Stop eating like you're going to the electric chair and you won't be 50lbs overweight

What kind of women are you involved with to where 40 pounds is a drop in the bucket?
Not me, but the OP was talking about divorce. You don't divorce if your wife goes from 5'8" 125 to 165.

Yes. Attraction is very important in relationships, and I'm not attracted to overweight women. It's why I date thin (bordering on skinny) women - to leave room for error.
It's not hypocritical as long as the significant other stays in shape, as well. I never want to be fat and never will be fat. I expect the same.

You don't let it get that high.
40lbs on a 120lb woman is a lot of weight. Like completely different woman.

Agreed. That's why you date thin people who never want to be fat and emphasize exercise and a healthy diet. You'll never run into that problem.
ETA: It's different for different people. Many men don't mind a few extra pounds and don't like to exercise all that much themselves. I'm just never going to be that person.

Sorry I semi derailed the thread.... but yeah I was just calling out the metabolism excuses for guys
I've seen first hand how hard it is for certain woman to just stay normal. I mean it takes everything and strict diet for some. Any deviation and lbs can come on quick. Feel sorry for them
quote:yep and unacceptable, unless maybe you see her trying but for some reason they just keep gaining.

I've seen quite a few women get back into shape after a divorce to get back in the game. it's a matter of 'want to'

Maybe on LL. But my wife gained 40lbs switching birth control while in college and went from 130 to 160ish. She's 5'5" though. She was definitely at an unhealthy weight, but she wasn't "huge." It helped that a good chuck went to her tits
ETA: She weighed more then than she did at 9 months pregnant

Gaining 40lbs at 5'5" is a ton of weight. Especially when you start at 130lbs.
And sorry but 20lbs+ didn't go to her tits.
