I knew Kia hired some BMW personnel, but I didn't realize that Kia was a German brand until now.

Brother in law just bought one a few weeks back. I had the same questions, so I asked him what research he did and how the quality is holding up so far. He did consumer reports/forums/asked on FB for feedback. He loves it! He says he was surprised how nice the quality is and would think a much more expensive/luxury brand for the quit and smooth ride. He would not hesitate to buy it again, and warranty (5 years/60k miles of bumper to bumper is huge bonus/piece of mind). Hope this helps
