quote:If I were joining at 35 this is something I'd look at. Those guys seem to avoid most of the typical bullshite and mostly keep to themselves. I don't think I've ever seen a WO in a formation or doing unit PT.
Warrant Officer
Eta- not sure if the navy has warrents though. I know one of the services doesn't.

I think back on when I was 35 and didn;t.. Next thing ya know I was 45, and then 55 in the blink of an eye.
Bottom line... In regret it now badly. ANd you will too. What is a hitch these days 3 years? 4?
Shoot, I have waited three years just to see if a tree is going to live. I've had Girlfriends that didn;t even last 3 mobnths.

Enlist in the Coast Guard is still my advice.
Don't be an Officer until you have served some time as an Enlisted person because you will learn things as an Enlisted person that will help you succeed as an Officer.
If you are trying to succeed as a new Officer when you have never before been in the military in any capacity, then you will not have the respect of the enlisted people that you are supposed to supervise. You are more likely to fail as an Officer.
That's my reasoning.
