There are also highly functional alcoholics that have great careers, and no real family problems, never appear drunk, but consume major amounts of alcohol daily, but over time the alcohol takes a toll on their bodies.

There was a guy named Joe who told his neighbor he was going to rehab because of his drinking, the neighbor said "Joe, Ive never seen you drunk", Joe replied, " No, you have never seen me sober.

I'm an alcoholic. I dont understand drinking in moderation. It just doesnt make sense to me

No. Loss of control over amount consumed and when consumed. Physiological changes occur with the introduction of alcohol and the body is never restored to a pre-alcohol consumption condition, hence, the disease concept/approach to alcoholism

I went from getting at least a solid buzz every night to 3 or 4 beers on Saturdays. Been going strong for 3 months
