Not particularly, but exchanging money is. If two people who just swap gift cards aren’t educated enough to make the decision to not exchange ‘gifts’ then they’re trashy as f***.

its not very personal and has no warmth behind it like a gift but its welcomed by all so its a nice alternative.
i just make sure to tell them i love them and use the money on something to make themselves happy
