Don't understand what? Jailbreaking?

Jailbreaking is basically adding software to your phone that opens up the operating system. By doing this it enables you to install "tweaks" or programs that will for example speed up animations like opening/closing folders, or a program that will open up hidden settings withing the control center that Apple used to test iOS7 with. *There are many many more tweaks and things out there so customization is almost endless

You can also install themes to further customize the layout of your homescreen and/or lockscreen.

Other people use jailbreaking a phone or ipad to do other things with such as getting around having to have tethering built into your phone plan, etc.

Take a little time and google some articles on the pros of jailbreaking and what it actually is.

If you jailbreak and you update your phones software to a newer version like say 7.1 then you lose the jailbreak and cannot jb until there is one released for that version string of software. If you are jailbroken and have a problem with your phone, then it voids your warranty. But, it's completely reversible so you can cover up that you were ever jailbroken.

I prefer a jailbroken device to a non jailbroken device because I can customize it to how I want it instead of the few possiblities Apple gives me.

I just don't understand all the apps and the technical terms that come with it. How does this zeppelin thing work? I'd like to mix up the icon and stuff on my 4.

It is a tweak that you would install. It comes with preloaded images like the apple logo, or the nike swoosh, and some others. But, with photoshop or access to someone with photoshop you can make custom logos. I just made a Duck Commander, Drake Waterfowl, Alabama Script A, and I made Lew a UGA G logo.

Once you have the logo file then you would connect your phone to your computer and open a program called iFunBox which allows you to access all the files on your phone like you would your desktop or laptop. Then you would find the Zeppelin folder and would be able to insert your files in a folder and have that image replace your carrier image like the word AT&T or Verizon.

Example

All it takes is reading some stuff and also looking at examples and tutorials. When I first started I was nervous and didn't know what the crap I was doing. There are still some stuff I'm not great at, but there are others that will be in here that can help you out.

As far as the Zeppelin logos go, I can definitely help you out and hook you up. As long as I'm not tied up with work, busy with my wife, or strapped in my waders duck hunting I can crank them out pretty quick.

Like right now, I'm actually at work but I'm the only one here and I'm running Year End reports and closing stuff out but it takes a while between reports coming out so I can make some logos for myself and see what's going on.

MJ, did you get your mini to work again? iTunes went to restore and update and at the last minute said my phone wasn't able to be restored for some reason. Retrying now.

Yeah, I jailbroke it but on the bootup it got stuck on the Apple logo and wouldn't do anything. Tried to connect it to iTunes but wouldn't recognize it. So I had to go into DFU mode and then hook it up. It basically made me restore it to factory default through iTunes and then I was able to restore to my backup.

I haven't tried it a second time yet.

Yeah, but make sure you update and backup first through iTunes and not OTA. If you upgrade OTA and then try to jb then you are going to have problems.
