Invisalign retainers - who has experience with this?

I recently finished my treatment but the dentist wanted to do refinements since my bite is all jacked up after the teeth straightened so now I have 16 additional trays. No big deal since I paid good money for the treatment and want to do this right.
I’m starting to look ahead at the retainer options for Invisalign now though and am wondering if I should get the permanent retainer that is glued to the back side of my teeth instead of the retainers that are just like the trays. I’d love to just not have to worry about putting them in each night and taking them out in the morning. If you’ve had Invisalign, which retainer type would you recommend? Does the permanent one get uncomfortable or hard to maintain over time?

Get the permanent. Otherwise, you'll be wearing a retainer for the rest of your life and if you lose it, your teeth will shift.

I’m definitely leaning toward the permanent one for that reason.

I’m rocking regular braces right now. Ceramic top and metal bottom. Sucks but over halfway done.

I paid more for Invisalign because I didn’t want to be the 34 year old adult with very noticeable metal braces and then I started working from home full time
. I’m very happy with the results though.

I turn 30 in October. I had the choice for Invisalign but knew I wouldn’t do it right.

I did invisalign and two rounds of refinements. It took forever but my dentist is a perfectionist and she did an awesome job.
I couldn’t stand the idea of the permanent retainer. I floss like 3x per day thanks to my invisalign time and that’s a pain in the arse with the permanent retainer.
I’ve been very compliant with my removable retainer. That’s up to the individual though. If you aren’t going to wear it practically every night then be honest with yourself and do the permanent option.
