Rod Stewart and Neil Young both have 7 figure layouts...Stewart has one on each side of the pond...Young’s is O Gauge while Stewart’s are HO Gauge.

Buy a Lionel Christmas set. The track is easy to put together and take apart and now have Bluetooth so the trains can be run from your smart phone or iPad. Have sound effects and smoke if you want it

There is something un-American about running a Lionel train with bluetooth.

I’ve got an early 90s LGB Christmas train set with extra cars and a lot of extra track I’m currently wanting to unload for cheap. DFW area. Needs some TLC, but would be a good set for someone with experience or interest.

Do you think O would work best with a typical Christmas village? Not trying to look scale to the size of the people, more like just good relative size for presence, i.e., not too small or big.

That’s a great layout. The engine in the 3rd pic (bottom right) is what I have in mind right now, seems to fit in with the Dickinson era.

Great food for thought.

Budget, not sure what is reasonable yet. Under $100 would be good. Hate to blow too much on holiday/4-6 wks a year use.
