I'm not proud of the fact that my brother made such poor choices that he relies on others to take care of him. But here we are.

I was a legal guardian for my mom's schizophrenic cousin who lived in a neighboring state. I found a personal care home for older people with mental illness. I visited monthly, took her to lunch and shopping for anything she needed.

i understand... i guess i'm in the minority in believing that these programs, by and large, are a GOOD thing and are needed, as opposed to the general sentiment of anyone that receives ANY kind of government subsidy is fricking scumbag loser that is just too lazy to work.... i guess i'm just weird like that

Him keeping the house and living in it simply isn’t an option and you need to make that very clear

OP should get his brother to OD on fentanyl and spend that extra inheritance on a Lambo and a lake home in NW Arkansas

There are people who specialize in handling stuff like this for you. For a fee. Do a web search. I have a friend in exactly your situation who tried to handle this themselves and it almost consumed their life. They turned it over to a service and say it’s more than worth it.
