Right out of college I was hired by an engineering firm to do safety surveys. I was given an entire papermill to survey ,the mill was 40 years old and was full of catwalks made of expanded metal, you know, like for your grill. A papermill is a continuously humid, wet ,loud place and over time those catwalks were extremely rusted. While I was doing my survey one of the employees fell through one and no one had noticed that he was missing until after lunch. He had be killed by the impact.

OK, I'm almost afraid to ask.

How does a hog skinning machine work?

Kid in my high school (equip manager, basketball) got his leg caught in a wringer. Twisted his leg around many times. Lost it near the hip.

It has been 30 years but it had a large tumbler with some bands of serrated blades that would remove the hide from the hog. It was an older design at the time.
