Not sure I'd go that far but he did dodge the draft, saying his new found religion, Islam, forbade him killing people.
I also saw someone say he was a class guy that modern athletes could learn from. Ironic, considering he was the first self promoting media whore athlete I recall.
All that negativity being said, in the ring he was a wonder to behold.
